Bible Class
Bible class exists as a fulfilment of the promises the congregation makes regarding the spiritual growth of a child when they are presented for Baptism. We meet every Sunday after the service to look at a passage, have a chat about it and examine how it can be applied to our lives. Taking 2 Timothy 3:16 as a guide, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" we aim to work our way through the whole Bible every 3 years. We don't cover everything, but aim to give the young people enough of a framework to place the locations, events and themes of the Bible on, so that they can see how it all fits together and all points towards Christ. Year 1 focuses on seeing Christ through the Old Testament, and giving a history of God's people. This serves as background to year 2, which looks at the works and teachings of Jesus. Year 3 then furthers that, looking at Acts and the Early Church, and how their teaching and accounts can be relevant today.
Bible class is open to all young people aged 11 to 18, so feel free to encourage them if you spot them after the service!
